Zaffo (dal dizionario): tampone di garza da introdurre e stipare in una cavità naturale (naso, utero), in una breccia operatoria o in una ferita, a scopo emostatico o per controllare la cicatrizzazione nel processo di guarigione per seconda intenzione. 

 

Cosa si prova quando muore una persona amata?

Come descrivere il dolore che si sente e si vive?

 

Zaffo è una presa di coscienza, un punto di vista, un vuoto ricamato.  

È l'impossibile tentativo di curare una ferita e coprire una mancanza.

 

Ma è anche cura, rinascita, insegnamento e condivisione perché dal dolore si può imparare molto, tanto da comprendere che la morte fa parte della vita ed è un processo naturale che spetta a tutti.

 

Il filo così intrecciato è il simbolo di pazienza e del tempo dedicato a sé, al proprio dolore e alla persona che abbiamo perso ma è anche il ricordo di mia madre che mi ha insegnato ad usare l’uncinetto negli ultimi mesi di vita.

 

L’ombra del centrino si adagia sull’immagine fotografica sottostante: un ombelico e un seno, rimando al femminile e alla femminilità, ma anche alla madre e alla prima relazione che abbiamo in vita, entrambi organi primordiali del nutrimento umano.

 

Nutrimento, per il corpo e per l’anima.

Ecco che cos’è una relazione intima.

Ecco cosa perdiamo con la morte.

How do you feel when a person that you love dies?

How do you describe the pain?

 

Zaffo is an awareness, a point of view, an embroidered emptiness. I tried to treat a wound, to cover an absence, but it's impossible. 

Zaffo is also a reborn, a hug for your heart, a lesson because you can learn a lot from your pain. The cotton yarn is time and care for ourselves. 

Is also my mother’s memory: she taught me to make doilies during her last life months.

 

The doily allows to see the photos through the yarn: a belly button and a breast, the remind to femininity, to mum and the first relationship that we have in our life.

Two body parts very important to feed.

 

Food for body and soul.

So there this is an intimate relationship.

So there this is what we lose with death.
